How do I transfer ownership of a vehicle in Dubai?

-The car's traffic fines should be paid before any transactions. Also, the car's Salik tag should be removed from the car's windshield and the Salik

  account deactivated.

-Seller must have a letter from the bank stating that the car has been paid off.  Buyer should get a copy of this letter.

-Buyer must have residence visa, car insurance and a valid U.A.E. driver's license.

-Buyer and seller must go to the Registration Center to complete the following process.

1.) Get car tested, especially if the registration card is near expiration.

2.) Inside the center, you will need to get an application form and have it filled out in one of the typing booths there.  You will need to have the car's

registration card, a copy of the Buyer's driver's license, a copy of the Buyer's passport and visa and a copy of the Buyer's insurance certificate.

3.) Hand in the application form.  They will check for fines.

4.) Pay the cashier and hand in all the documents and the receipt.

5.) A new registration card will then be issued.  Please review the information to make sure that the Buyer's name now appears on the card.  The Seller

should make a copy of this new registration card for himself before the final transaction of payment is made, so that the Seller can then cancel the

      insurance policy on the car.
